Sukhjinder is a professional turned entrepreneur with 16 years of success filled experience in evangelising businesses and business events. Over his professional tenure he has worked as a Deputy Director with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Sales Director with Expomedia, Group Head- Business Events with Times of India Group, Managing Director (India) for International Quality & Productivity Centre (IQPC). Sukhjinder has worked in different roles including senior P&L business management, project development, marketing & sales with a strong emphasis on new business and product development. All these assignments have given an extensive exposure to the macro and micro drivers of business, managing new launches, alliances, partnerships and above all identifying the right opportunities as this is essentially an “early mover” business.

Critical thinker and adept negotiator with a strong bottom line approach who can apply extensive industry knowledge to build business profitability by assessing customer demand and identifying revenue-enhancing opportunities. A commerce grad from the Delhi University, Sukhjinder did his PG in business management at IIPM and a 2 year specialisation in Information Systems management at NIIT.

He is currently spearheading Business Edge Conferences Pvt Ltd, a start up – working on producing solution focussedconferences, seminars, training programmes & exhibitions.

Mrs. Ilaria Cicero is the head of the Legal Department of Fiera Milano’s Group.

She joined Fiera Milano S.p.A. at the end of 2008 after many years of experience as Senior Associate of the American law firm Dewey & LeBoeuf.

Mrs. Cicero has a Ph.D in European Community Law, an LL.M at the University of London and she is enrolled also in the UK Solicitors’ Registrar.

She is part of the top management of Fiera Milano S.p.A. and she is in charge of all the legal aspect of the Group (i.e. commercial agreements, extraordinary transaction, legal opinions, etc.). Her legal Department is also supporting the Internationalization Department for the development of all the relevant foreign projects.

Dan Londero is a member of the global board of Reed Exhibitions located in the UK. As Chief Sales Officer he is responsible for global sales at Reed Exhibitions leading a company wide sales effectiveness programme. He also heads up Reed’s export division which generates revenues in excess of US$120M annually. Prior to joining the world board, Dan was President of Reed Exhibitions Greater China working from Beijing where he oversaw their rapid expansion of operations including the establishment of the Reed Sinopharm and Reed Huabo JVs amongst several other partnerships and acquisitions. He was located in Australia prior to China where he was the Managing Director of Reed Exhibitions which is the largest exhibition organiser in Australia.

 

Douglas Emslie

Douglas Emslie (Group Managing Director) BAcc (Hons) CA, joined the Company when it launched in 1998 as Finance Director, becoming Group Managing Director in 2000. Prior to joining Tarsus he held senior management positions at Blenheim Group Plc and after its takeover, United Business Media plc. He is Chairman of the Association of Event Organisers and Chairman of the Events Industry Alliance. He is also a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland.

Mr. Edward Liu is the Group Managing Director of Conference & Exhibition Management Services (CEMS), which operates in Singapore, China, India, Pakistan, Indonesia, Thailand and Vietnam. He has been in the industry since 1977 and is dubbed as “The Exhibition Man” in Singapore by the Straits Times newspaper.

In China, CEMS organizes the Beijing International Tourism Expo series, which is the largest event of its kind in Beijing. In addition, CEMS manages the China Guilin International Tourism Expo (CGITE) series in Guilin, one of the most picturesque destinations in China.

Mr. Liu is the current President of the Singapore Association of Convention & Exhibition Organisers & Suppliers (SACEOS); as well as the Asian Federation of Exhibition & Convention Associations (AFECA).

In addition, Mr. Liu is an ex-officio on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE), based In Dallas, USA and is also advisor, exhibition industry, to the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT) and the Chongqing Convention & Exhibition Bureau.

Mr. Liu, who holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Brunel University in the United Kingdom and a Diploma in Management Studies from The University of Chicago, USA; is the Honorary Consul for the Republic of Cote d’Ivoire in Singapore and concurrently the Chairman of the Pro-tem Committee of the Honorary Consular Corps in Singapore.

 

Jochen Witt

Jochen Witt was born in 1952. After completing his law studies, he worked as a lawyer in Hamburg until 1986. From 1986 to 1993 he has worked for BASF AG in various positions. In 1993 Jochen was appointed President of the Potash Company of Canada in Toronto and in 1998 he became a member of the Executive Board of Wingas GmbH in Kassel, Germany, a joint venture between BASF AG and Gazprom.

From October 1998 until April 2007 Jochen Witt held the position of President and Chief Executive Officer of Koelnmesse GmbH. During that time he focused on the international expansion of Koelnmesse's portfolio and the modernization of the exhibition grounds in Cologne. Jochen Witt was Chairman of the European Chapter of UFI from 1999 to 2005. From October 2006 to October 2007 he was President of UFI.

In September 2007, Jochen founded jwc, a management consulting firm. Jwc provides consulting services in the areas of trade fair strategy, marketing, pricing of trade fair services, business development (including Mergers and Acquisitions), planning and construction of trade fair grounds/facilities, and business intelligence. Jwc’s clients are trade fair organizers, venue owners, private equity companies, associations, service providers and Governments in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Jochen Witt is married and has three children.

Michael is Senior Vice President of UBM Asia, the Asia Pacific regional headquarters of UBM plc. UBM Asia is one of the largest exhibition organisers in the region and has over the last 18 years pioneered the International exhibition industry into China, India, S.E. Asia and Japan over the last two decades. He is also a Director of Shanghai UBM Sinoexpo International Exhibition Co Ltd, one of the most important independent exhibition organisers in China, with its largest fair being Furniture China in Shanghai which is an annual fair taking up 120,000 + net sqm. Over the past five years he has also been instrumental in the formation and growth of UBM India in which time it has become one of the most active exhibition organisers in India. UBM India is also a publisher of trade magazines (IT, Property, Travel and Energy) and medical directories through its sister company, UBM Medica.

Michael is a UFI Board member and is currently Treasurer and Chair of the Sustainability Committee.

Michael also has been a board member of HKECIA (Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association) for 18 years and was its Chairman for two years.

He has also previously worked in the UK, New Zealand, Italy, Australia, Belgium, Greece and Hong Kong. Prior to joining UBM Asia in 1994, he was Regional Trading director for the UK Global Business Group “Vestey” based in Hong Kong.

Russell Taylor

Russell Taylor was appointed Chief Executive in May 2008 having joined ITE in 2003 as Finance Director. He was previously Finance Director of Air Miles International Group, where he managed all financial and commercial aspects of the international loyalty schemes business. Russell has extensive experience of all sectors of the exhibition industry, having spent seven years at Earls Court Olympia Group, where he was Group Finance Director and subsequently Managing Director of Earls Court & Olympia Halls. A qualified Chartered Accountant, he trained at Touche Ross & Co where he became a Manager in the Corporate Finance Department. He holds a BA in Economics from Lancaster University. 

 

Sanjeev Khaira

Sanjeev Khaira is Managing Director of UBM's operations in India. He has been stationed in Mumbai for two years and is responsible for a large portfolio of business magazines, websites and trade exhibitions serving a number of key markets including: Pharmaceuticals, Security & Homeland Security, Energy, Nuclear Energy, Food, and Property. Each of portfolio provides marketing platforms for Indian companies to do business both locally and on an international stage. In addition they also attract a large number of international visitors and exhibitors, enabling them to access the market both in terms of sourcing and opening new markets.

Prior to his transfer to India, Sanjeev was Publishing Director of UBM's property portfolio based in London. During his two years with the portfolio Sanjeev was named Business Publisher of the Year, and his titles Property Week and Building Services Journal were named magazines of the year in successive years. Before this he was Publisher of the interiors portfolio for two years.

Before his current six year tenure with UBM, Sanjeev worked for Newtrade Publishing for eight years, the business focused on serving the needs of the consumer magazine and national newspaper industries. During his time with the business he held a number of roles, most recently Publisher. 

Sanjeev has BA(Hons) Architecture from the University of Westminster, he also had postgraduate marketing qualifications, a postgraduate PPA Diploma in Publishing and  most recently was a member of the UBM Business Leaders Programme.

Sanjeev is 39 years old and is married to Rebecca, they have two young children all of whom are based in India. Sanjeev retains a keen interest in the visuals arts, is an avid traveller and enjoys most sports particularly cricket, football and skiing.

Mr. Stanley Chu is the founder and Chairman of the Adsale Group. 

Mr. Chu received an MBA degree at Chinese University of Hong Kong in 1984 after his bachelor degree in Science from University of Hong Kong in 1973. For years, Mr. Chu has been dedicated to promoting the exhibition industry. He is currently the First Vice Chairman of International Exhibition Association (UFI) Asia Pacific Chapter, Honorary Life President of Hong Kong Exhibition and Convention Industry Association (HKECIA), Vice Chairman of the Exhibition and Convention Committee of the Guangzhou International Chamber of Commerce, Advisor to the Jiangsu Provincial Government and Nanjing city on exhibition issues, Member of Steering Committee on MICE of HKSAR, Member of Tourism Strategy Group of HKSAR, Advisor of China Expo Forum for International Cooperation (CEFCO), etc. His commitment to the industry granted him an award of “The Top Ten People in China Exhibition Industry 2001 & 2003”.

Steve Monnington has been involved in the exhibition and conference business for over 20 years.
He was the International Development Director for Blenheim Group plc and was instrumental in the acquisition strategy which led to the sale of the business to United Business Media for £593m.

Steve founded Mayfield Media Strategies 13 years ago to provide acquisition broking and business development services to exhibition and conference organisers worldwide. Mayfield’s speciality is creating partnerships and relationships that work – these range from assisting small entrepreneurs to sell their businesses to larger groups, to setting up and managing international joint-ventures.

Mayfield Media are based in London and have recently opened an office in Istanbul due to the high level of acquisition activity in Turkey.

 

Steven Hacker

Since beginning his association management career in 1970, Steven Hacker, CAE has served dozens of Board of directors as key staff, chief staff executive, consultant and advisor. He earned the coveted “Certified Association Executive” (CAE) designation in 1976, and been recognized as a “Fellow” of ASAE, One of only 162 individuals in the United States to have been recognized in this way (1988). As chief Staff executive he has successfully led several not‐for‐profit organizations by emphasizing sound Financial planning, membership growth and volunteer involvement. As president of IAEE, Hacker has succeeded in building membership from less than 2,600 to more than 8,000.

IAEE today is at the center of a growing network of national and international organizations in the exhibition industry. Seventeen international, national and regional associations in the exhibition industry have aligned themselves as working partners with IAEE through a series of reciprocity agreements.

Attendance at IAEE major meetings and conferences has grown dramatically as a result. Hacker is an active member of ASAE. He has chaired the CIC Board of Directors in 2000 and 2003. He has been consistently named “One of the 25 Most Influential People in the Meetings and Conventions Industry” by Tradeshow Week magazine and was inducted into the CIC Hall of Leaders in 2007.
